DWP launches ‘Workie’ in new workplace pensions campaign

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) launched a campaign last month that is designed to change the country’s view of pensions in the workplace…through the use of a large fluffy mascot. You may have already seen this mascot, known as ‘Workie’, on the TV visiting a number of work environments, where he encourages people to make sure they don’t ignore him. In a bid to spread the campaign on social media, the hashtag “don’tIgnoreIt” was created. Lansdell-rose-workie-pension The Pensions Minister, Baroness Altmann, stated that great strides have been made by automatically enrolling more than 5 million people into a workplace pension, and that the challenge now is to ensure that everyone gets to benefit. As you’ll see from our story on auto-enrolment, there are still many employers out there who have not yet begun preparation for the obligatory pension scheme. Make sure you’re not one of them and talk to us today to make sure you have the correct procedures in place. T: 020 7376 9333 E: info@figurit.com
