CALENDAR: Don’t forget the 31st January 2015
The 31 January is a very important date in the tax calendar, taking into account both the self assessment filing date and the date by which tax on last year’s profit becomes due, plus the first “payment on account”.
Old hand?
If you have been playing the “tax game” for a while now you will be only too familiar with this important date and your accountant will already have filed your tax return and given you notice of the bill so you can check your savings account to ensure sufficient funds.
Beginner? Forgetful? Busy? Lazy?
If you are new to this, or, like many, let the year slip away with them, then it is vital to now take action as with less than two months you are cutting it fine.

Avoid any last minute panic in January and co-operate with your accountant in December to finalise everything required to avoid penalties incurred when you miss the filing and payment deadlines.
